sometimes, something quite unexpected happens which helps to create a killer shot. here i was, kneeling down, focusing in on this family's footprints as they walked in the sand when an inquisitive seagull crossed into the frame. i wasn't sure whether it was checking out the new lens or soliciting food, but either way i was grateful for it's interest.

Ann, I just looked over your photo blog for the first time and this is my favorite picture (although you as an oompa loompa is a close second). I just love how it is tilted off center and everything about it and I don't even know the family!! Theresa
