i knew the day would come when the shed, built with his own two hands, would need to be torn down. but i could not let it happen before snapping a few last minute photos forever preserving some of the best memories of my childhood...those spent alongside my grandfather.
my parents even put on their best 'american gothic' for the occasion.
we are very happy to have our baby, zoe home with us again! her surgery went well yesterday and the doc said that she'll be as good as new...in about 3 months. it's going to be a long road ahead but we think she's worth it. i think the elizabethan collar causes her more pain than the actual knee as she continues to wear a pathetic look on her face. the first image you see was the night before her surgery when pat and i couldn't bear to make her wear the elizabethan collar to bed so we put a t-shirt on her instead so she couldn't get to her pain patch. i think she stuck her tongue out on purpose...
i feel honored to have been present at the dedication of a tree in memory of michael john's daddy. this beautiful 'elizabeth magnolia' will grow stronger each day with the love and support of family and friends.
